Welcome in Amakha

Amakha is an advanced build environment which allows you to create your own GNU/Linux distributions.

By using Amakha you can design and develop your software for several hardware architectures. Amakha provides a lot of different components, software and libraries.

Amakha is a Zulu word which means "perfume"

Design

The flexibility of  the available framework guarantees a highly customizable system. Also an accurate selection of Amakha components improves the development process quality.

Thanks to its power and versatility, Amakha can be used both on systems with high performance hardware and on platforms with limited resources: it is the optimum choice to build your system in the embedded, desktop or server class.

Build and Development

Amakha supplies a powerful native compilation environment and also an easily configurable  cross-compilation toolchain, for a large number of pre-defined devices. Also it offers more than 5000 softwares including the most widespread libraries such as uclib, glibc, qt4 and gtk+.

The system generates file system images ready to be flashed on the target and also packages distributable via repository (ipk, rpm, deb). The compiler support for multi-threading speeds up the development time.

Test

Inside Amakha you'll find the main tools for testing and debugging your software such as the support to gdb and oprofile.

Furthermore, when the target is not available, it is possible - for testing the generated image or software - to use specific qemu images.
